Mud Jacking OR Poly, The Hidden Costs…

People often ask why mud jacking is better than a polyurethane fill.

Polyurethane is a a petroleum-based, toxic material that is sticky and adheres to concrete. Eventually, all concrete must be replaced, and concrete that has been repaired by polyurethane won’t be accepted at the recycling centers. Instead, it will be disposed of as toxic waste. When removing “toxic waste,” it is the owner’s responsibility to cover the massive cost to safely remove and dispose of it. It’s a hidden cost no one tells you about.

Polyurethane has been used for over 30 years, but the cement grout used in mud jacking has been used for over 60 years. Cement grout is a non-toxic sealant that sub-seals floors at increased compressive strengths, while tightly sealing cracks. And, it’s a fraction of the cost of polyurethane. Portland cement grout is eco-friendly and can be recycled, saving you money while being environmentally friendly.
