When an existing concrete slab remains structurally suitable, concrete lifting or slab jacking may provide a practical way to restore elevation and improve support beneath the slab.
However, lifting is not appropriate for every situation.
Concrete that is severely cracked, deteriorated, structurally damaged, or otherwise unsuitable for lifting may be better addressed through replacement.
Scritchlow evaluates the condition of the slab, amount of settlement, surrounding grades, drainage, underlying support, and other site conditions before recommending a repair or replacement approach.
